Building Australian-standard skills capability in India

AVM Group is exploring a significant collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to expand access to Australian-standard vocational training and workforce development across India, with aged care proposed as the first area of focus.

CII is one of India’s most established and influential industry organisations. For more than 130 years, it has worked at the intersection of industry, government and civil society, contributing to policy, competitiveness, skills development and economic growth. Today, CII represents more than 10,500 direct members across the private and public sectors and, through its network of industry bodies, has an indirect reach of more than 365,000 enterprises. Its footprint includes 70 offices and 12 Centres of Excellence across India, together with nine overseas offices and institutional partnerships in more than 100 countries.

The proposed collaboration brings together CII’s extensive industry reach and understanding of India’s skills landscape with AVM Group’s Australian vocational education capability, training systems and industry-focused delivery model.

The initial focus on aged care reflects the growing importance of care skills and workforce capability both within India and internationally. Training would be delivered at selected locations in India, with programs designed around Australian approaches to vocational learning, practical skills development, workplace readiness and quality standards.

Over time, the relationship has the potential to extend into additional industries and locations, creating a broader platform through which internationally benchmarked skills and training can support India’s evolving workforce needs.
