Combating HIV in Fiji. Strengthening community health.
As Fiji confronts a serious and rising HIV outbreak, the need for informed, community-level action has become increasingly urgent.
Through APMT, AVM Group is contributing to this effort by delivering the Certificate III in Community Health, with a specific focus on addressing HIV and AIDS in Fiji. Two cohorts of Fijians have now been empowered with practical knowledge and skills to support health awareness and engagement within their communities.
The initiative extends beyond formal training, encouraging community outreach and taking important health messages into urban and rural communities across Fiji.
While HIV provides an immediate and compelling focus, the larger objective is to build sustainable community health capability developing people who can contribute meaningfully to healthier, better-informed and more resilient communities.
Dili to Darwin - a strategic workforce corridor
AVM Group is pioneering Dili to Darwin, a structured, end-to-end workforce initiative designed to connect Timorese talent with workforce demand in the Northern Territory. Working with AVM TL, its key partner on the ground in Timor-Leste, the initiative prepares workers with the technical skills, Australian workplace knowledge and English language capability required to succeed in Australian workplaces. With the NT’s Beetaloo Basin development, defence expansion and aged care sector facing significant workforce shortages and Dili just 640 kilometres from Darwin Dili to Darwin responds to a compelling economic opportunity for both regions through a workforce pipeline built for a long-term partnership.
Supporting Fiji’s sporting talent.
Life After Rugby & Sports (LARS) is an APMT-led initiative supported by the Fiji Rugby Union, creating education, employment and career pathways for Fiji’s sporting community.
Launched in Suva in June 2026 in the presence of Fiji’s Prime Minister, the Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, LARS supports aspiring, current and former players in preparing for opportunities during and beyond their sporting careers.
Through assessment, mentoring, workplace and life skills development, and pathways into further education and training, LARS brings sport, education and industry together to help build capability for Fiji’s future.
Bringing Global Aviation and Travel Standards to The Pacific
For island economies such as Fiji and Timor-Leste, tourism is more than an industry. It connects people, creates employment, supports businesses and provides an important link to the wider world.
Through its IATA training capability, AVM Group is at work in the region. Internationally recognised aviation and travel training is being made more accessible to students and industry professionals, developing skills for airlines, airports, travel, tourism and related services.
